The West Australian Football League has completed a thorough and comprehensive review of all areas related to the incident at Arena Joodalup on the public holiday Monday.
The West Perth member who threw the broken wooden spoon that hit East Perth coach Tony Micale, has been spoken to and he will apologise to Tony Micale.
He has also been suspended from his club and WAFL games for the remainder of the season including finals.
An East Perth supporter who threw the broken wooden spoon in retaliation and hit a West Perth member has also been identified.
He is not a member of the East Perth club but has offered an apology to the West Perth member and has also been suspended from WAFL games for the remainder of the season.
"The WAFL and all clubs enjoy the passion of supporters but we cannot allow this passion to spill over into abuse," WAFL operations manager Clint Roberts said.
"All game officials hold a special position and must be protected from over-zealous fans and all fans must understand that this is the case.
"This is particularly so as crowd numbers increase as has been the case in 2009 in line with our marketing slogan of being up close and personal"
