Lee in top form for Pinjarra

JAMIE Lee scored his first century for his new club finishing with 129 and setting his team up for victory.

South Mandurah won the toss and sent Pinjarra in who batted steadily reaching drinks with no wickets down and the score on 96.

Michael Ford (38) and Lee continued their partnership with Ford being dismissed eventually with the score on 117.

Lee reached his first hundred for Pinjarra which included 14 boundaries and four sixes and was finally out for 129 when the score was 233.

Chris Zadow (37) pushed for quick runs as Pinjarra finished with 258 with Dylan Smith (4/22) picking his second hat trick of the season and Matt Hill (4/61) the best of the bowlers for South Mandurah.

South Mandurah was in trouble early, losing their first wicket in the fourth over but Brad Holmes (46) scored aggressively to keep the game on.

Two run outs from Mark Hennessy at fine leg soon changed the game and South Mandurah was on the back foot.

When both Holmes brothers were dismissed the wickets fell quickly and South Mandurah was all out for 146 with Lee (3/36) and Dylan Skipper (2/37) the pick of the Pinjarra bowlers.

At Peelwood Halls Head won the toss and sent Old Irwinians in on a well prepared wicket.

Matt Gordon (4/19) and Rod Tregenza (1/22) kept things very quiet early, having the visitors at 3/34 from the first 15 overs.

Pete Wyllie continued to apply pressure in his 250th A grade game, conceding only 15 runs from his 10 overs while picking up two handy wickets.

Bryce Evans batted well for the Irwinians with 30, while Ian Bowes was savage on veteran off spinner Dale Burns with a very handy 36 at the end of the innings to take to the team total 128 from 44 overs.

In reply Halls Head got off to a fast start before the openers were dismissed, leaving the home side at 2/39.

From then on consistent partnerships left Halls Head in no danger of losing the game, eventually being bowled out for 196 in the 48th over.

Brendon King top scored with 32 and Josh Peterson completed the innings well with 30 not out.

Ian Jack was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors although slightly expensive he collected five middle order wickets to finish with 5/43.

In the other game played Warnbro easily accounted for Hillman.

Warnbro were sent in and finished at 6/252 after their 50 overs.

Kieran Ugle Jnr the star of the day with an unbeaten 104 with support form Liam Ugle (45) and Westerberg (35 not out).

Chris Motu finished with 3/20 and Kieran Ugle Jnr capped off a good day to pick up 2/10.

The Mandurah v Waroona and Shoalwater v Baldivis games will both be rescheduled as the wickets were too damp.

There will be no A grade games this weekend as a combined Peel team will be playing in the qualifying round of the Country Cup in Bunbury.
