AN 18-year-old woman is lucky to be alive following a serious crash on the Dawesville Bypass Road last week.

The Erskine resident was driving a Mazda 323 sedan when she turned onto the main road and collided with a Mitsubishi Triton utility just before 3pm Friday.

The utility occupants sustained only minor injuries when their vehicle rolled.

The woman suffered serious head and internal injuries and was air-lifted to Royal Perth Hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition.
