21 Jan, 2010 09:38 AM
WARM days and balmy nights have resulted in January 2010 being the warmest January on record in Mandurah.

So far for the month, the long term average temperature has been 31.3 degrees compared to the average 28.6 degrees.

“It has been a very hot month and the nights have been what I called ‘toss and turn’ nights,” Bureau of Meteorology climate information officer John Relf said.

Tuesday night was the warmest night also on record when it stayed a warm 27.2 degrees.

To date, last Sunday has been the warmest day for the month when it got to 39.2 degrees.

No rain has been recorded in four weeks and two days since 2.8mm of rain fell on December 20.
