The awards were part of Harvey World Travel’s first Business Symposium, which were held aboard P&O Cruises’ Pacific Dawn on February 11-12.

Miss Graham described her Manager of the Year win as “surreal” and said she was “extremely shocked” that she had won.

“I was excited to be nominated but I had no idea that I’d actually take [the award] out,” she said.

Currently managing the Harvey World Travel store at Pinjarra Junction Shopping Centre since it opened 18 months ago, Miss Graham has been working in the travel industry for 10 years.

Originally from Narrogin she was one of five travel managers across the country in the running for the prestigious award.

“The competition is extremely tough because you’re up against some really fantastic managers.”

Graham Guelfi, who owns the two Harvey World Travel stores in Pinjarra and Narrogin, said his staff had secretly put Miss Graham up for the award and that she found out she was nominated when reading a company newsletter.

“It was a very proud moment,” Mr Guelfi said.

“It’s a fantastic achievement for all the hard work she’s put in.”

Word had spread quickly about the win with clients, friends and family members thrilled about her achievement.

“I think they were more excited that I was because it took a while to sink in that I actually won it.”

Miss Graham said the perks of her job was having one-on-one contact with customers and knowing she made them happy by sending them on a holiday.

In recognition for her hard work the successful manager received two Qantas business class tickets to any destination in the world - but she is yet to decide where she wants to go.
