TEGAN Ambrosa’s career is taking flight having successfully achieved her pilot’s licence.
The 17-year-old will now be able to fly small airplanes and has the qualifications to sit an exam for a commercial pilot’s licence.
Tegan has been intrigued by flying her whole life.
When she was younger she used to watch the planes fly over her house.
As a birthday present to her one year, Tegan’s mother bought her a joy flight ticket.
The flight only lasted an hour but it motivated Tegan to continue flight lessons and study towards getting her pilot’s licence.
For the past two years she has been flying small aircrafts at Murray Airfield and instructed by Colin Dawson.
She said at first it was scary and that “a lot of people had their concerns”.
But it now spells the beginnings of a career in piloting which she hopes to pursue when she finishes school.
Tegan had to sit the basic aeronautical knowledge test along with a general flying progress test in order to get her licence.
Her pilot’s licence will contribute toward her graduation.
