A COODANUP woman who appeared in the Mandurah Magistrate’s Court last week in relation to a string of drug charges was given a nine-month suspended prison sentence.
Michelle Valerie Cook pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell or supply, possession of cannabis, two counts of possession of a smoking utensil, possession of a weapon and allowing her premises to be used for drug use.
Cook was arrested after a search of her house on October 22 last year uncovered 1.4gm of methamphetamine, 4.56gm of cannabis, two smoking pipes and a metal tyre lever hidden beside a couch.
The 38-year-old told police at the time of the raid she didn’t sell the drugs, she “just shared them”.
Counsel for Cook said his client had a “problem with drugs”.
Magistrate Terry McIntyre reserved judgment on the lesser charges but handed down the suspended prison term in relation to the more serious charge of possession with intent to sell or supply.
Cook was placed on a community based order and must undergo urine testing before reappearing in court on March 12.
She was warned any breach of the order would land her in prison.
