Search called off

04 Nov, 2009 04:44 PM
AN emergency rescue beacon was activated off the Singleton Beach area last week and Mandurah Water Rescue Group was called to assist Water Police.

A grid search of the area failed to find anything and the search was later called off.

In the Serpentine River last weekend a 6.3m vessel with three people on board had mechanical problems and had to be towed to the Mary Street jetty.

On a separate incident, four people on board a 5.1m vessel ran out of fuel between the Mandurah Estuary Bridge and the Old Mandurah Bridge.

Mandurah Water Rescue group is still looking for new people who want to join.

People over the age of 17 years who are interested can log onto www.mandurahwaterrescue.org.au/ or contact manrescue@westnet.com.au
