A PUBLIC information session will be held at the Pinjarra Civic Hall on July 21 for residents to get the latest information on proposed Local Government reform.
In February Local Government Minister John Castrilli requested all local governments to consider voluntary amalgamation.
Part of this process is to consult with the community to get its views on whether amalgamation or boundary changes would be beneficial to its residents.
A detailed four page pamphlet has been produced and sent to each resident and ratepayer in the Murray Shire outlining what amalgamation or boundary changes would mean locally.
The flyer also includes a stamped, self-addressed envelope requesting that residents return the questionnaire which contains five questions.
The survey will help the shire in its submission it has to send to Mr Castrilli by the end of August.
Murray Shire president Noel Nancarrow said it was critical that everyone had their say by filling in the survey.
“It’s important that Council receives as many questionnaires back as possible”, Cr Nancarrow said.
“We also invite people to attend the public meeting to ask questions and get the latest information, as it relates to the future of the Shire of Murray”.
The meeting will be held from 6.30-8pm.
