PEEL Manor House hosted possibly the most extravagant wedding the Peel region has ever seen last weekend.
After 12 months of planning and more than a million dollars spent on preparations, Zhenyya Tsvetnenko married to Lydia Gaugg on Saturday.
Wedding coordinators Paul Hurford and Ryan Mcmanus said the wedding was ‘the most extravagant and elegant yet sophisticated (wedding) the Peel region has ever seen.”
The bride flew to Italy beforehand to be fitted for her champagne-coloured gown, showing there was no expense to be spared for her special day.
Arriving at the ceremony in horse drawn carriages with all the trimmings the bride and groom exchanged their vows on a white stage outside on the grounds of the Peel Manor House.
More than 100 butterflies were released as the couple took their first steps as man and wife.
The reception was truly a sight to behold in the pure white marquee lined with black silk.
It featured crystal chandeliers, white tables, golden chairs and hundreds of yellow and creams roses and orchids sitting in four foot vases.
With a huge white dance floor in the middle, stunning ice sculptures and a lit up bar, guests were treated to an ice bar with three different types of Moet Chandon with fresh strawberries, raspberries and edible hibiscus flowers.
There was a metre-high chocolate fountain where guests could dip an assortment of fruit into the cascading chocolate.
The menu, attributed to head chef Samantha Murray, offered luxury canapés including chilli mussel shots in glasses, coconut and mango salsa prawns, fresh double crumbed camembert cheese, Japanese antipasto, and main meals of chicken florentine or peppered beef.
The dessert featured chocolate strawberry moneybags made from filo pastry with chocolate cake, chocolate icing and strawberrys marinated in liqueurs wrapped inside along with a local cheese platter.
The groom surprised his wife during the reception when he picked up a guitar and serenaded her with their two favourite Bon Jovi songs and a song he had composed himself, then the bride surprised her husband the next day when a helicopter picked them up from the manor and instead of taking them to the Burswood, took them to their honeymoon destination in Bintan, an island off Singapore.
Mr McManus said it was a magical occasion with the Peel Manor House being lit by different coloured lights and with fairy lights leading down the pathways into the winding gardens.
“The bride loved it, she said it was complete madness, that it was lovely,” Mr McManus said.
“She was such a fun bride to have, they both were.
She wasn’t pretentious, she was just so happy to get married.”
The happy couple shared the morning after the reception with 40 guests and shared an English breakfast.
