THE Pinjarra Senior High School recently had a $1.8million overhaul of its science facilities as part of the federal governments’ economic stimulus plan.
Refurbishment and construction started in January and completed for use last week.
During the refurbishment students had to work in transportable classes, where practical work was difficult to conduct.
School principal Beth Aitken said the wait was worth it.
“The facilities used to be dreadful,” Ms Aitken said.
“These new facilities are fantastic for the school and the students.”
Five new rooms, a new lecture theatre, preparation room and outside area were part of the refurbishments.
The school is now preparing to upgrade the design and technology rooms and develop a trade training centre.
