New chairman elected

20 Nov, 2009 10:21 AM
AMBROSE Depiazzi is the new chair of Fairbridge WA’s Board of Governors.

He replaces long-time Fairbridge ambassador John Collett who served a three-year term as chair.

Fairbridge in Pinjarra is the only charity in Australia that owns a whole nationally heritage listed village dedicated to providing positive change in the lives of young people in need.

The village also provides cottage accommodation and function facilities for corporate groups, camps, weddings, festivals and other events.

A retired accountant, Mr Depiazzi is the fifth child to a Dardanup farming couple, who were involved in community organisations at local, state and national levels.

Mr Depiazzi has been part of Lions Clubs International since 1971 and rose to the role of District Governor before being elected National Chairman in 1981, becoming the first Western Australian to hold this position and to date the youngest National Chairman the Lions have had in this country.
