Green Corps graduation

24 Sep, 2009 04:00 AM
SEVEN students from the 17th Green Corps team graduated at a ceremony hosted by the City of Mandurah early last week.

The graduates represent the last group in the Green Corps program.

Over the last six months the team has worked on many projects including a 100m boardwalk in Herron, revegetation within various reserves, fencing and weed control.

The Green Corps program is funded by the Federal Government and hosted by Greening Australia.

Young people aged between 17 and 20 years go through a six-month traineeship program and receive a Conservation and Land Management certificate.
