Driver remanded on hit-and-run charge

23 Jul, 2010 08:40 AM
A 21-year-old Dudley Park man appeared in the Mandurah Magistrate's Court on Tuesday after a 20-year-old Singleton woman was injured in an alleged hit-and-run incident in Mandurah last Thursday night.

Lauren Rogerson is recovering after her neck was deeply lacerated in the incident.

It is understood she was struck at the intersection of Tuckey Street and Sholl Street just before midnight.

On Friday police called for the driver to come forward and for anyone to contact them who saw a silver Mitsubishi sedan driving away from the area.

The injured woman was treated at Royal Perth Hospital and was expected to spend this week at home recovering.

Nathan Caine Howarth was not required to enter a plea and was remanded on bail until August 17.
