Campus has state’s shortest waiting list

24 Nov, 2011 10:56 AM
PEEL Health Campus has the shortest waiting list in the state for elective surgery, exceeding all government targets.

In the last year the hospital performed more than 1000 elective and emergency operations a month, including joint replacements, hernia repairs, eye surgery, obstetric procedures and complex paediatric operations.

The state government recognised the hospital has the capacity to cope with additional patients and operate on patients waiting on other hospital waiting lists.

Peel Health Campus also decreased its ambulance transfers to other hospitals by 24 per cent last year, decreasing the demand in big hospitals.
