SEVEN incidents were attended by Mandurah Water Rescue Group over the festive weekend with the warm weather seeing many vessels out on the water.

The boat had broken down and ran aground south of Dawesville and was towed to Port Bouvard.

At around 1pm on Christmas Eve one person was on board a 4.5m runabout and encountered mechanical problems and ran aground in the channel off the Mary Street jetty.

Early Boxing Day morning a 4.2m runabout broke down in shallow waters off Novara boat ramp.

A man and two children were on board.

Also that day two people on a 4.7m runabout and five people on board another vessel had motor problems.

On Sunday the call had gone out that a boat with two people on board had power problems and was taking on water about 400m offshore.

A passing vessel was first to the scene and towed the boat back to safety.

Later that day a small runabout with three people on board broke down near the estuary bridge.

Volunteers located them at Boundary Island and towed them to the Furnissdale ramp.
