Bush burnt in fire

MORE than two hectares of bushland in Linville Reserve, Falcon was destroyed on Sunday afternoon.

The incident was reported at 2.19pm and a base of a power pole was damaged.

The scrub fire, near a local pre-school, was attended by Falcon Fire and Rescue, Mandurah Fire Brigade and Mandurah Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

In the early hours of Sunday morning Mandurah Fire Brigade received a call from a Coodanup man who had an out of control fire in his backyard.

The call was made to volunteers at 12.16am and was extinguished by 12.46am.

The man explained he was having a funeral for his dog at the time of the incident.
