A YOUNG couple and their baby are lucky to be alive following a serious crash on South Western Highway this afternoon.
The accident happened just after 2pm in Coolup and involved a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Hyundai sedan.
St John Ambulance and firefighters attended the scene after a woman became trapped.
At this stage it is not clear what caused the accident.
Police are investigating.
One person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
