What's on this Weekend

27 Nov, 2009 09:40 AM
THERE are a few events on around town this weekend.

If you are looking for something to do – here is a list of some of those events.

Travis Caudle

Peel Alehouse

Friday night, 7.30pm

NOT long back from a month-long tour to launch his debut solo album in America Perth singer/songwriter Travis Caudle will showcase his wares next weekend.

The musician will appear at Peel Alehouse on November 27 from 7.30pm, showcasing songs from his full length CD Signals, described in a recent review as “a magnificent album that reveals Caudle as the next big thing in the Australian music industry.”

DJ Armee

Toucan Club

Friday nights

DJ ARMEE was born to get people grooving on the dance floor.

The artist got into hip hop from the age of nine, starting learning beats on the drums at 10 and then became a finalist in a national DJ scratching competition at 16.

The competition opened plenty of doors for the young DJ who soon began playing regularly in clubs and eventually joined the hip hop outfit Downsyde.

DJ Armee said the best thing about his career was being able to get people having a good time on the dance floor.

Art on show

SOUTH West artists have their work on show at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre for the Margaret River Artisans Cape to Cape exhibition that finishes this Sunday.

The display features 71 pieces including paintings, ceramics, jewellery, glass, textile and photography.

The artists have also been conducting workshops.

There are more than 40 artists in the Margaret River Artisans group and many of them operate their own galleries.
